Quick Weight Loss

Everyone wants quick weight loss, and who can blame them? Losing weight is often a long and difficult process, especially if you have
50 or more pounds to lose. When it comes to losing weight most of us are under the impression that fast weight loss is the best
method. After all the faster I get rid of these excessive pounds, the better, right? Maybe not.

Think about it. You didn’t gain weight overnight. Chances are if you’re obese or severely overweight, years of poor eating habits and
lack of exercise contributed to your current situation. Just as it took time to get into this predicament, it may take more time than you
want to get out of this as well.

Quick weight loss may lead to unforeseen height problems that you weren’t expecting. By using diets, fads and other methods for fast
weight loss you probably have a lack of understanding of proper diet and nutrition. Meaning the weight loss you experienced is likely to
be temporary and you may gain back even more than you lost! In addition, the rapid weight loss may lead to flabby overlapping layers
of skin, which is almost as bad as carrying the excess weight. Not to mention the damage that can be done inside that you can’t see
and may not even be noticeable immediately. Gallstones, dehydration, dizziness and headaches are a few of the other internal
problems you can face with quick weight loss methods.

So the question, is quick weight loss a good idea? Almost depends on who is asking that question and for what reason. For short term
special occasions quick weight loss doesn’t have to be a bad thing. For example, you’re getting married in one month and you need to
lose 10 pounds quickly, or you’re going to your class reunion in several weeks and want to fit into that old dress to look your best for
the event. With doctors approval there is no reason why a quick weight loss method can’t be used. Just remember to consume protein
and take a multivitamin to make up for deficiencies in your diet.

Quick weight loss methods are not long term solutions and no matter how much you might wish they were designed for persons with
serious amounts of weight to lose, there is just not going to be much of a benefit of losing weight this way. Except for in one instance,
individuals who are overweight and need to lose weight quickly may do so with their doctor’s supervision. A very low calorie diet
supervised at a weight loss clinic may help you to learn correct habits and lose as much as 20 percent of body mass in 12 weeks.

So what’s the best method of getting the weight loss results you want? By setting reasonable weight loss goals you will begin to see
improvements in your body and your overall health. Furthermore you will be much more likely to stick to losing weight than with quick
weight loss methods.
